Lynne B Hughes is the Founder and CEO of Comfort Zone Camp, a national non-profit organization based in Richmond, Virginia that offers free weekend bereavement camps for children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. Since 1999, Comfort Zone Camp has helped over 25,000 adults, children and teens coping with loss and life transitions. Comfort Zone Camp provides an escape where kids can experience the fun of a regular summer camp but also get healing and break the isolation to know they are not alone.

Lynne’s work has been profiled in numerous media outlets, including TIME Magazine, Wall Street Journal and New York Times, and has appeared on Good Morning America and The TODAY Show. In 2005, Lynne published a book for Scholastic Press called, You are not Alone: Teens Talk about Life after the Loss of a Parent.

Hughes was honored with a 2024 Virginia Business Women Leadership Award and a 2023 M&M Flipping The Status Quo Winner as well as honored as one of Redbook’s Mothers and Shakers 2002, awarded to 12 women (including Laura Bush) who have helped to improve the quality of life in the United States.
