Sloane Davidson is the Founder and CEO of Hello Neighbor, a nonprofit organization founded in 2017 to transform the lives of refugees and immigrants through mentorship, resettlement, and community-based programming. Sloane's vision is dedicated to helping our new neighbors feel confident and comfortable in their new lives in the United States.
Since its founding, Hello Neighbor has grown from a grassroots mentorship program into a nationally recognized model of immigrant and refugee inclusion. The organization has welcomed thousands of refugees and immigrants from more than 65 countries, providing direct support through family mentorship, resettlement services, education and youth programs, language access, women and family health services, employment and legal navigation programs. In 2019, Sloane launched the Hello Neighbor Network, a national coalition of grassroots organizations across 35+ states to learn from each other and work together to strengthen the refugee and immigrant support ecosystem. Hello Neighbor has been featured by The New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, and many other local and national media outlets.
As a Presidential Leadership Scholar, a Leadership Pittsburgh Fellow, and a member of the Stand Together Foundation Catalyst Cohort, Sloane's leadership, vision for more welcoming communities and positive change initiatives are recognized and celebrated. Sloane's contributions have earned her a place of distinction, including a much-watched TEDx talk on the power of hello and awards including Pittsburgh Magazine 40 under 40 and recognition as an Immigrant Advocate of the Year by Global Pittsburgh.
