Amanda Rice is the Founder & CEO of The Chick Mission – a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring every young woman newly diagnosed with cancer has the option to preserve her fertility ahead of lifesaving, yet fertility-threatening cancer treatment. Through direct financial support, educational programming, and advocacy efforts, The Chick Mission works to change the cancer care status quo and brighten fertility futures for young adults when they need it most.
Drawing on her own three-time cancer diagnosis in her 30s, Amanda founded The Chick Mission in 2017 to address glaring inequities of the U.S. health insurance system that she experienced firsthand. Nearly a decade since reading “Nonprofits for Dummies” during her own cancer treatment, The Chick Mission has covered the costs of egg-freezing for 900+ women battling cancer, saving over $11M in medical expenses for patients and their families (as of July 2026).
Pairing these real-time services with systemic changes, 22 states and the District of Columbia now have mandated insurance coverage for cancer patients’ fertility preservation treatment. Amanda and her flock at The Chick Mission will not stop until all 50 states pass legislation, and a federal bill becomes law, so they can put themselves out of business.
In the meantime, Amanda works tirelessly to scale and sustain The Chick Mission’s operations and impact. She shapes strategic connections and partnerships, meets with legislators and influential policymakers, and serves as a personal guide for newly diagnosed women navigating fertility preservation options. Amanda brings a big heart and savvy mind to everything she does, always with her fur baby Nola by her side.
