5 Editors Share Their L’Oréal Paris Summer Must-Haves
Summer is well underway, and it seems to only be getting hotte. With these temperatures, you may be thinking of ways to switch up your beauty routine to better fit the season. Whether you’re looking for a way to emphasize your summer glow or a mascara that won’t smudge in the humidity, we’re here to help.
We asked some of our Beauty Magazine editors for their favorite L'Oréal Paris products that they keep in rotation during their summer beauty routines. Keep reading to see their picks and why they love them.
My goal this summer is to wear less face makeup, for no other reason than I’m tired of feeling like my foundation slides off my skin by the end of the day. Since I’m only wearing concealer and powder, I’m making sure to use more of products that warm up my complexion, including blush and bronzer. My go-to bronzer lately is the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Up to 24H Fresh Wear Soft Matte Bronzer in the shade Dark.
I have never worn bronzer before this product because I thought it wouldn’t accomplish anything on my skin tone, but this bronzer is the perfect shade to add some dimension to my face. After applying blush, I use an angled brush to sweep the bronzer on my cheekbones and across my hairline for a sun-kissed look. I’ll definitely keep using it throughout fall and winter so that I can look bronzed year-round.
I have a bald head so makeup really makes a huge difference in my look, but oddly enough I’m really low key when it comes to makeup — especially when it’s hot outside. I could easily wear nothing at all, but I do understand the magic that dramatic lashes can make. So I reach for the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Noir Balm Washable Mascara when I want to amp it up and look (and feel) cute.
I know mascara is a year-round product so it feels like cheating to make it a summer pick, but you realize how necessary it is when it’s the last product standing at the end of the day. Even when I go sans face makeup because it’s just too hot out, I can count on this mascara to give me some much-needed polish. I feel good when my lashes are dressed up. I love the wand because it lets me get to my teeny, tiny inner-corner lashes and I appreciate the formula for whipping my unruly lashes into submission. It’s perfect for that no makeup, makeup look I gravitate towards during summer.
I love the look of tan skin, especially in the summer but I would never purposefully tan my face and risk sun damage. Instead, I’m all about a faux-bronze glow and I love reaching for the L’Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Facial Drops, Fragrance-Free. Every few nights, I add about five drops to my moisturizer to tan my face and neck and I love the results when I wake up in the morning.
My tan always looks even, I’m never orange or blotchy and the little bit of glow allows me to use less foundation for a more natural makeup look that I love in the summer. My secret trick is to mix the tan drops into body lotion and use them on my hands and feet for a natural and seamless bronzed glow. Overall, the formula is super versatile and the more I try it out, the more I love it. It’s a staple in my summer routine but will remain a part of my regimen well into fall and winter, too.
When it’s 80 degrees and counting in New York City, the last thing I want to slather on my face is a full coverage foundation (cue the sticky, drippy mess). During the warmer months, I tend to reach for a tinted SPF, CC cream or lightweight foundation, and my current go-to is the L’Oréal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum.
Summer is one of my favorite times of the year, however I don’t love the fact that almost all of my foundations feel heavy and sticky in the humid weather. The one product that has been my saving grace during those hot days has been the L’Oréal Paris True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum.
This has to be one of the most lightweight complexion products that I own — my skin feels hydrated but not sticky. Formulated with hyaluronic acid, It has a natural, radiant finish that doesn’t look greasy, making it a great option for anyone with oily skin. This is going to be my go-to throughout the summer for sure!
