Tweezers may just be one of the most underrated beauty tools out there. You’ve likely had a pair stashed in your makeup bag or on your vanity since the early middle school days—or a borrowed (note: stolen) pair courtesy of your mom, at the very least. But are you making the most out of them? There are actually quite a few ways tweezers can be put to use to help perfect your beauty look. Don’t believe us? Read on to learn seven reasons tweezers are a must for your beauty routine.
TWEEZER USE #1: KEEP YOUR BROWS IN CHECK
Of course, you already know that tweezers are key for getting rid of pesky eyebrow hairs, but it’s still worth mentioning. A trusty pair can be used to shape and pluck stray hairs so you can have brows on fleek all day, every day.
TWEEZER USE #2: APPLY FALSIES
Ever considered giving false eyelashes a try but were too intimidated at the thought of actually applying them? That’s where tweezers come in handy! Using a pair of tweezers to hold and place your false lash strip or individual lashes will help you get a more precise, foolproof application without messing up your eye makeup look. Who knew?
TWEEZER USE #3: ADD DETAIL TO YOUR MANI
Want to create an intricate nail art design? Your tweezers can help you achieve precise designs. Once your base coat is dry, dip a pointy pair into a different nail polish color and draw away! You can also use tweezers to help accurately add gems and decals to your manicure.
TWEEZER USE #4: PLUCK A FEW STRAY GRAYS
We’re not saying you should pluck out every gray hair on your head (ouch!), but if you notice a gray hair or two along your hairline and don’t have time to head to the salon, you can use your tweezers to get rid of them. Gray hair, who?
TWEEZER USE #5: FILL IN YOUR BROWS
You know one way tweezers can be used to up your brow game, but did you know they can also be used to perfect and fill in your brows? Well, now you do! Here’s how.
Step #1: Reach for your tweezers. You’ll want to use a pair that has a flat, angled tip. Nothing too sharp!
Step #2: Grab a brow gel or mascara. We recommend using the L’Oréal Paris Unbelievabrow Longwear Waterproof Brow Gel. Unscrew the tube, then run the flat edge of the tip of your tweezers along the doe-foot applicator, collecting product in the process.
Step #3: Shape and fill. Place your tweezers so that the top and bottom tongs are aligned with the top and bottom of your eyebrow. Gently drag the tweezers toward the end of your brow, bringing the tongs closer together as you reach the end to create a sharp, perfected outline. Then, fill in your brows using an angled brush and go over them with a spoolie to finish.
TWEEZER USE #6: ADD GEMS TO YOUR MAKEUP LOOK
How do you think those glittery festival makeup looks you see all over Instagram are created? No one is using their fingers to individually place gems and rhinestones on their face; it’s all about the tweezers! Use them to pick up, then place, stones to top off a glitzy, fun festival makeup look.
TWEEZER USE #7: CONTOUR YOUR NOSE
Last but not least, you can use a pair of tweezers to contour your nose. Dip your tweezers into a bit of concealer or foundation in a color one to two shades darker than your skin tone. Then, run the tongs down the sides of your nose. Blend and buff the two lines with a makeup blender and say hello to a flawlessly contoured nose!
