One of the best parts of social media is the wealth of makeup inspiration it provides — much of that stemming from TikTok. TikTok makeup can include everything from glowy, super highlighted skin to bold, colorful eye looks, but sometimes it can be hard to know how to translate those trends into an everyday makeup routine. To help you figure it out, we've compiled a list of the best TikTok makeup trends that will work with your favorite products and your everyday makeup.
1. “I’m Cold” Makeup
Cold girl makeup is all about putting together a flushed, pink makeup look that’s reminiscent of how your skin looks when you’re outside in the cold. To DIY the look, grab a blush like L’Oréal Paris Infallible Up to 24H Fresh Wear Soft Matte Blush and apply the color to your cheeks, lips, and the tip of your nose to replicate that “just got in from a snow day” look.
2. Vampire Skin
While the name sounds like it would allude to dark, vampy makeup, TikTok’s vampire skin trend is all about getting a sparkly, highlighted look similar to those famous teen vampires. Choose a highlighter like L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer, and mix it with L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Foundation. Apply your foundation as usual, and you’ll have a glowy, healthy-looking complexion.
3. Underpainting
If you have trouble blending out your concealer, highlighter or contour, underpainting is the trend for you. The technique involves applying those three face products under foundation instead of over it, which leads to a more natural look and smooths out any potential harsh lines.
Reach for the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Full Wear Concealer up to 24H Full Coverage in three shades: a shade that best matches your skin tone to use as concealer, a shade one or two levels deeper than your skin tone to contour with and a shade one or two lighter than your skin to highlight. Prep your skin with a primer like the L’Oréal Paris Prime Lab Up to 24H Pore Minimizer, then apply the trio to your skin. Blend the concealer, highlighter and contour out with a makeup sponge, then apply your foundation on top for a seamless look.
4. Supermodel Cheekbones
Makeup trends from the ‘90s are still popular, and there’s nothing more ‘90s than a supermodel. The TikTok cheekbones trend is all about recreating the super chiseled cheekbones of our favorite runway models of that era, and all it takes is a slight change in your bronzer application technique.
Take your small, densely packed makeup brush and apply L’Oréal Paris Infallible Up to 24H Fresh Wear Soft Matte Bronzer, in a curved line from your cheekbone down to your chin. Then make another line with the bronzing powder on your jawline, extending it to meet the previous line you made at your chin (the shape will look like a slightly flattened square). Finally, use your makeup sponge or brush to blend out the two lines, and you’ll be left with beautifully chiseled cheekbones.
5. Latte Makeup
Sure, latte makeup is just another name for bronzed, monochrome makeup, but it’s so perfect for any occasion, it’s hard not to be on board with the trend. To easily get the look, stick with brown shades of eyeshadow (we suggest L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Pocket Palette Eye Shadow in Boudoir Charm) and even consider switching out your go to mascara and eyeliner for shades of brown, like L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Panorama Washable Mascara in Black Brown and L’Oréal Paris Infallible Grip Mechanical Gel Eyeliner in Brown Denim.
6. W Blush Application
Instead of simply putting blush on the apples of your cheeks, try the W blush trend for a natural flush that will brighten the face. Take the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Makeup Radiant Satin Blush with Camellia Oil and a blush brush, and start applying it at your temple and down to your cheek. Then, apply the blush on top of your nose and about halfway up the bridge before continuing on to your other cheek and up to your temple. The shape should resemble a “W,” and you should notice your face and cheeks will look lifted and bronzed, sort of like you just spent some time in the sun.
7. Balletcore Makeup
Balletcore hair and outfits are trending, so it's no surprise that makeup trends are also being inspired by the dance form. Balletcore makeup features a lot of pink and shimmery tones, so after applying your base makeup, you should reach for L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Mademoiselle Pink and apply it to the middle of your lids and the inner corner of your eyes. Use L’Oréal Paris Glow Paradise Balm-in-Lipstick with Pomegranate Extract on your lips, and L’Oréal Paris Infallible Up to 24H Fresh Wear Soft Matte Blush will add a pink flush to your cheeks.
