Extremely disappointed in this product! I've been frosting my hair for over 20 years using another product, but tried this one for the first time-Bad experience. The Cap was completely WORTHLESS!! NOTHING like advertisement on the Box. I threw Cap away out of frustration & used comb like other review I read. I ended up with yellow spots & I kept on for an hour! "Hi- Precision Pull- through cap?" Hardly. . .

I used this product on my non-color-treated hair. I had cut off all my previously color-treated hair and my new growth (untreated natural color) was a mousy brown with some subtle auburn undertones. (I want to note here that I tried last year to go blonde at home, just a few weeks after coloring it dark brown. I got it to lift using some Clairol/L'Oreal blonde products, but I never got it above light orange...I then took myself to a salon and waited a year before doing anything at all to my head.) So, I actually used this kit to lighten my entire head of thick, wavy pixie-cut hair. The mixture was barely enough for my whole head (which is pretty good, considering this is meant for just highlights). I was able to lift my natural mousy brown color to a very, very pale yellow (like the inside of a banana peel). It is important to note that I made certain to color my hair as thoroughly and evenly as possible. The reason I used this box dye to go blonde (instead of picking up some lightener & developer) is because I saw that it came with a toning solution, which is AMAZING because toners are absolutely necessary for natural-looking blonde color, no matter what shade. The toning lotion that came in the box perfectly counteracted the yellow in my hair, enabling me to go almost-platinum in under three hours. The color I have now is a light natural blonde with a touch of coolness ("ash") to it, thanks to the toner. Of course, keep in mind this would have taken much longer had I used this on color-treated hair, and I would have definitely needed a few boxes, and probably a separate bottle of toner. My hair had been washed and air-dried (no products, no styling) every day for almost a year, so it was extremely healthy and took very well to this radical lightening treatment. L'Oreal, PLEASE PLEASE include toning with your other blonde products!! It's the ONLY way to get rid of the yellow and orange color that happens due to lightening, and it will help all of us achieve more natural-looking results, as you so attractively promise on your box.

I went with a short wispy haircut at age 49...soon to be 50, and I just needed a little kick in my strawberry blonde hair. The La Petite Frost was AWESOME! Just the right color, right amount and left my hair very soft and natural. Highly recommend this product.

I have been using this product for years! I have short hair and it doesnt leave my hair feeling unhealthy or coarse. If I had anything negative to say about it, it would be the cap. The cap used to have clearly visible black circles but then changed to very light invisible silver circles that are very hard to see. I usually use the same cap over and over to keep from having to punch holes in it every time and also have to draw my own circles either in red or black permanent marker. In reading other reviews, I see others have problems with cap as well. Keep up the great product L'Oréal but improve the cap, or go back to visible circles!

This product is by far the Best at home highlighting kit available for short hair. No orange or brass, just perfectly placed honey blonde highlights for less than $10 dollars! I hope this product is forever available!
