I loved this hairspray. What the heck did you do! Instead of a nice smooth lightweight mist I get large clumps of junk in my hair. Bring back the original product.

Aerosole spray defective

The aerosol spray on this product was defective. The spray came out in wet globs and dried like my hair was starched. I was going to return it to Walmart but wanted you to know you have a packaging quality control problem.
It is the first Loreal product that has disappointed me.

Very disappointing

This product used to be perfect however, their formula and packaging changed recently and the product no longer does what it says it does. The spray is inconsistent (even with the same amount of pressure applied), the smoothness is gone and my hair ends up looking worse than before with clumps where the spray was more heavy. This product used to apply very smoothly and was easy to style my hair with and that is no longer the case. I wish they had stuck with their old formula.

NEW SWAMP HAIR from LOCK IT HAIRSPRAY!

I had been using Loreal Lock It Weather Control faithfully for YEARS. I have long hair which I curl old-school hot roller style. This spray was the clincher which held my much-complimented "do" together. I always told friends and strangers the brand of my hairspray because they always asked. No more. Recently I bought it as usual, in multiples, online, and in good faith of a reliable product. On a typically busy morning, thinking I could count on my trusty Lock It Hairspray, I opened a brand new can and started spraying. Instead of the fine dry mist and excellent hold, a thick spume came from the spray nozzle. In no time I had a swampy mess on my head, curls coming undone. Wet and sticky clumps hanging down like Medusa. Thinking I must have the wrong product, I checked the can. It was the same exact label it always had- no "NEW FORMULA" warning on the front. Then I checked the ingredients. Well, how sneaky. The first ingredient is now WATER! Who does that? Who adds humidity to an ANTI HUMIDITY hairspray? Great joke, Loreal. Too bad it was on me. Needless to say, the water jet ruined my coiff and my outlook that morning. Certainly, I can't use this. I need consistency and a firm, dry holding hairspray, and this one is no longer it. I am now researching other brands, and I will pay the price for a brand that will suit my needs. Congratulations. You lost a consistent, reliable customer, but I'm sure that doesn't matter to such a big important company.

I feel betrayed!

I have used this hair spray for many years, it was the best but not any more! This spray is unusable now. It's like water in a can, doesn't hold and is too wet. I hate the formula change. It's way overpriced too. I don't trust this brand anymore. Looking for another brand.

I've used Lock It Weather Control for years, and have recommended it to several family members and friends. NOTHING else compared to it. But you ruined it. Your new Humidity Control formula is horrible. It's heavy and wet and the spray ends up on my body rather than my head. If I could, I'd give it zero stars. Weather Control was never broken, so why'd you "fix" it?? Please bring back the original!

New formula is awful! I've been using this hairspray for many years and I will no longer purchase it. New formula is watery and the sprays large droplets. Does not hold style and actually flattens my curls.

Isn't as effective as it used to be

This was the best hair spray on the market for many years. Recently, something has changed. It no longer smells, holds, or feels the same. The spray is disbursed as larger droplets, rather than a fine mist. It doesn't hold a hairstyle. It lands feeling wet and heavy, and weighs down hair. On several of the last few cans, the sprayer didn't work at all. I returned a few to the store, but now will need to find an alternative.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS PRODUCT!! ☹️

I have been using the hairspray for many years. It always had a fine, light mist, little to no fragrance, and combed and washed out easily. The hold was descent without being sticky. NOW—IT IS HORRIBLE!!
The last 4 cans that I purchased spray out big wet globs of sticky mess that feels like wet lacquer on my hair. I tried cleaning the nozzles, but that didn’t change anything. The new formula/distribution method is absolutely terrible. You have taken a long-standing, well-loved hairspray and ruined it. Now I am stuck with multiple cans of unusable product. Please bring back the original formula.
If you are truly monitoring these reviews, you can see that every loyal customer is extremely disappointed with the change. Stop fixing things that aren’t broken. Do better!!

Just hairspray but I feel like I've lost a friend?

I have been using the "weather control" version of this product literally. every. single. day. for over 10 years. It was so perfect that I actually often checked bags to travel instead of bringing a carry-on, so I could take this hairspray with me. I loved that the formula was light, fairly dry, layered extremely well, and held in all but the very windiest conditions. When the formula changed, I literally went to Ebay to buy as many cans of the old formula as I could afford. Now, I'm running out, and I'm just upset. The "humidity control" version is not comparable AT ALL. It is thick, gloppy, and makes my hair look chunky and greasy when you layer it, and sets up like cement the second it actually gets wet, making it painful to comb out and damaging to my hair. I'm sure I will eventually find another product to use from another company, but not without first spending significant money testing products that I end up not liking. L'Oreal, what the heck?

I have used this hairspray for years with great satisfaction. I recently bought some and it sprays out like a shower and leaves droplets on my hair. this is horrible !!! I have to wash my shoulders and back and clean the bathroom because it goes everywhere. I tried cleaning the nozzle and still is horrible. why have you changed things????

This WAS the best for curly hair in humidity! Now it’s awful!!! WHY did the company change this? Someone was STUPID!!! I would pay a higher price to get the old one back. PLEASE bring the old formula back.

I loved this hairspray. I found it to have a nice scent and it held well. Unfortunately, I had to switch brands as the last 2 cans that I purchased sprayed foam instead of a mist. I tried to clean the cap out with hot water, but the cans still sprayed foam.

Bring Back The Old Hairspray!

I absolutely loved the Weather Control hairspray and now that it changed to the Humidity Control it is terrible. It's like spraying water on my hair. I ordered 4 of the Weather Control last week and got the Humidity Control and they won't let me return it. According to the source, it's just a change in branding, but it definitely is not.

Loreal, Why Did You Ruin This Hairspray?

Terrible new design! Sprays wet, like spraying small water droplets on hair. It clogs at times coming out of the nozzle. It is no longer a fine aerosol mist. Lock It USED TO BE (past tense) my favorite hairspray that I used for years. Unless Loreal goes back to the former formula, this will never work for me.

CLUMPS of hairspray from can, NOT a fine mist

This formulation has recently changed, now says HUMIDITY control. Whole different formulation, and not worth the increased price of $9 a can. And the worst part - the cans do not spray well at all!! The sprayer sprays large clumps and drops of this hairspray, not a fine mist. I thought it was just the one bottle and bought a new one, and that one did not spray well either. Tried to clean out the nozzle - did not help. It happened to 4 bottles in a row and had to throw them all away. I was really hoping it was just a fluke as I used to love this hairspray and it was my favorite, bought it often. Am now looking for a new brand, as this seems to be the new low normal now for this hairspray. SOOOO DISAPPOINTED. 0/5 - would not recommend at all

It was amazing not it is terrible

This was my go to hairspray. I live in South Texas where it is very humid. This was by far my favorite until the new version. Now it spits out and is extremely hard to use. I have several bottles thinking it was just a bad spray nozzle. All the new bottles do the same thing. I am very disappointed and would like the old formula back.

L’Oréal pulls a deceptive and terrible switch

I had used the original weather control hairspray for years! Then suddenly, without warning, L’Oreal pulled a fast one on its customers and changed the product inside the can while deceptively keeping the same name. The new product is horrible! It is wet, heavy and sticky and performs nothing like the other hairspray. Whoever the genius was at L’Oreal that came up with this should be fired. I’m happy to see that so many others feel the same hopefully L’Oreal will do the right thing and bring back the original formula.

I want my Weather Control Back

BRING BACK WHAT WORKED - I just ordered 10 cans of L'Oreal Lock It Weather Control but received 10 cans of Lock It Humidity Control- NOT the same formulation at all. I have used Weather Control for years and loved it - it kept my baby fine hair and style in place unfortunately the Humidity Control is like spraying water on my hair it's completely useless. Bring back Weather Control...Disappointed in Virginia. Tina

Loreal Lock It, not worth the $

This WAS my go to hairspray! The last 8 cans I purchased from Amazon and Walmart are defective! The spray comes out wet and flattens my hair leaving it damp. I thought it was just 1 defective can so I kept buying from various stores. What happened to this product? All 8 cans purchased are worthless and the price just kept going up. So disappointing, a user for 5 + years and the product is ruined!

The formula change is awful

What on earth did you do to this hair spray? It was the best hands down. I ordered it online and it came out clumpy and wet. I thought I had a defective can, so I bought one directly from the store and same issues. I even tried a third can, same issues. have used this for over 10 years. My hair just does not look the same and now I have to find an alternative. Why would you change a product that was working? Did you make it cheaper and charge the same amount in order to produce more profit??? I am sure you have to be losing money on this now.

Humidity Control not the same as Weather Control

I have used the Lock It Weather Control Hairspray exclusively since it first came out. I even continued to buy it through the issues with the spray tip constantly falling off. Nothing else works for me like this does, especially not the Lock It Humidity Control Hairspray. It is not the same product, although Amazon seems to think it is. I order Weather Control, they ship Humidity Control. I can't find Weather Control anywhere anymore. Has that product been discontinued?

Something changed

Something has changed. It doesn’t mist.. it spurts out. I’m a sucker and kept buying cans. Now I have all of this hairspray I can’t use. So sad because it WAS a book product.

Was a loyal customer

I have had this hairspray on a subscription for quite some time, since it can be hard to find in the store (usually out of stock). The last two orders I have gotten are not like they used to be. The hairspray "sputters" out and leaves large droplets -it's not a fine mist anymore. I have tried swapping nozzles but no difference. It's ashame since I found this brand and formula to be the best on my hair here in the South. Now I will have to find a suitable replacement.

I have used LockIt hair spray for years and have LOVED it. Then something changed! The last 2 cans I have gotten spray terribly. I thought I just got a bad can so I bought another and have had the same issue. So disappointing. They are useless.

NEW FORMULA IS NOT GOOD

I have used Lock It hairspray for years and I loved it(PAST TENSE)!! Unfortunately, the last 3 cans I purchased are HORRIBLE. The spray is no longer a mist and it comes out like water-NO HOLD whatsoever. I thought there might have been a manufacturing mishap, so I bought another one. Same result! Foolish me, I bought a third can, same result. The dates on the cans are 2025 and 2026. A good product has been ruined. I will now have to search for another brand. Wake up Loreal, new is not always better,,

Ruined Lock It Hairspray

Why did you change the L’Oréal Lock It weather control hairspray? I’ve used it for years on my thin fine hair and loved it. It was a quick drying mist and I could add volume to my hair and it would hold all day. NOW it is spraying wet sticky heavy spray that ruins my just styled hair. And it is so sticky you cannot comb it out. I thought it was just a bad can and I went to different stores to buy more and even ordered three cans of Weather Control from Amazon and it arrived as Humidity Control. I now have eight cans that cannot be returned because I tried to use them hoping it would be the old formula! Please change it back to the old formula.

Not the hairspray I once loved

I have fine hair and have used this product for years and had always loved it, but the last two cans I have purchased have been awful. It does not spray in a fine mist that it used to have. It sprays in a heavy sticky watery spray that coats my hair, arms and clothing. My hair is so stiff I cannot get a comb through it. I am not sure if it is the nozzle or if the can does not contain enough pressure for the spray to be the fine mist that it was before. I have just started using the second can although I am so displeased that I will discontinue using this product. I hope you will evaluate the Lock It Weather Control to see what problem has caused this hairspray to be so undesirable. It had always been my go-to hairspray and I am sad that it now has this issue.

I have ordered the weather control three times on Amazon because I can't find it in the stores anymore. The first two times I got the weather control. This last time I got the humidity control. They are not the same. Weather control is light on the hair and the humidity control is heavy & wet. I have used this hair spray for years and now I will have to find a different brand. I find it interesting that L'Oreal replies to all these reviews are the same. They should try to come up with something better than there auto replies using AI.

Went from love it to leave it!

I’ve purchased three different cans from different retailers and they’re all equally awful! The main issue I have is that it’s no longer a fine mist spray. It’s now like topping your hairstyle off with a garden hose!! It’s heavy and wet and your clothes even get a nice soak. I’ve used this exact hairspray for YEARS and am now on the hunt for something new.

The spray nozzle is not working correctly!

I have loved this hairspray for years. In the last 2 months 3 cans of the hairspray the nozzle puts out a heavy spray rather than a light mist??? Did you change the nozzle? I cannot use this. It makes my hair a sticky mess. I bought one and thought something was defective so continued to buy 2 more and the same thing keeps happening! You need to look into this and find out what is wrong!
