Love this liner BUT it does dry out

I am on my second tube of Matte-Matic in dark brown. I LOVED the liner at first. Goes on slick and dark...but after a while the first tube got very dry and would barely go on my eye. Once it was gone I bought a new tube and, again, it's great. Hopefully I go through this tube before it gets dry

I recently got this with high hopes that the eyeliner would surpass my expectations. The formula is great. BUT, the eyeliner is not sharp at all! It is blunt and nit good for cat eyes. Although it says it's self-sharpening, it is not. Disappointing.

Very disappointed!

I finally found an eyeliner that was mechanical, fine tipped (but smudgeable), waterproof, and did a decent job staying on all day. I was so please with it that I went out and bought several tubes so I would have it at home, at each of my offices, in my travel bag and in work-out kit. Quite an investment!
Unfortunately, within a few weeks of buying the one I use the most had turned hard and dry. It not only broke off within the tube, but would no longer even make a mark, much less go on smoothly. And now some of my less-used pencils are starting to do the same thing. What a waste! Clearly there's something wrong with this formula and I'm very disappointed that Loreal didn't test it more thoroughly before putting it out in the market.

The one make up item I must always wear is eyeliner. I always use a mechanical pencil eyeliner. I purchased this one and it seemed dried out. I thought I might have just got an old one so I purchased another and it was great for about a week. Then completely dry again. I wondered if something happened during the manufacturing process but I won't waste my money trying a 3rd one. Very disappointed!

I bought this at CVS a few days ago and I wish I had kept my receipt & product packaging. Color doesn’t go on very well, doesn’t smudge well, almost like it was already old or dried out. Don’t waste your money on this one.

Worst eyeliner

This eyeliner is dry and crumbles. I just purchased it last week and decided to try it this morning. It barely deposited any color and as I was attempting to line my lower lash it broke. I thought maybe the tip was dry so I tried again, it broke. I'm so mad I wasted money on this garbage product.

I have used LOREAL products faithfully for over 30 years-this eyeliner is so very disappointing. It is so dry and pulls skin on lids to apply it and the crayon falls out of the pen-! I suggest you do not buy this one-

This eyeliner dries out way too quickly. I cannot use it without first slid it across chapstick. It just will not put color on my eyelid. Constantly breaking. I like the idea of a sharpener at the end of pencil but does no good when pencil is broken. Too much of a hassel. Spend a little extra money of something that actually works.

I cannot get this to deposit color on my eyes/lids! It absolutely will not line my eyes. I've tried with different types of shadows and it just doesn't work. Wish I would have read reviews before buying this one

Used to love, not so much now!

I have always used this liner. Bought some about two months ago and it dried out within a week of using. Went and bought another one about two weeks ago and it broke off as soon as I tried using it. I went through the whole tube in a week! Of course because this is my favorite , I bought yet another one (should not have needed to yet). Same thing happened! Broke off every single time I went to use it. Now its over half way home and I need yet another one. Not sure if the formula was changed recently but please fix before I switch to a different brand.

Does not glide on, actually, its more like ‘invisible’. Requires a great deal of pressure and still nothing. If I had the receipt I would have returned it. An overpriced poor product. A disappointment.

Totally Fallible!

Bought 2 pencils because I had previously used L'Oreal's 'old fashioned' eyeliner pencils that could be sharpened. First, the eyeliner would not come out when the case was swiveled; same thing happened with the second pencil. The store where purchased replaced the pencils. After several uses, the liner would not apply to the eyelid. The liner lead tip had to be wiped or cleaned before it could be used. The lead cannot be sharpened. Finally, the eyeliner lead falls out of the pencil case! It's a poorly made pencil.

So disappointed with the pencil aspect of this product. No way to sharpen because the outside casing is like trying to sharpen a wood log. The actual liner product is so soft it falls apart when trying to sharpen. Works great when first purchased because it comes already sharpen. A total waste of money afterwards☹️

Smudges, but impossible to remove!

It looks good when you first apply it, but mid-day it gets all smudgy. When it's time to actually remove the make IT DOES NOT COME OFF!!! I tried soap, cleaners and multiple makeup removers. It just impossible to get rid off. Takes me 3 washes before it actually clears off my eyes.

Hard as a rock. Will not glide on skin, only paper

I am so disappointed in this eyeliner! I bought the deep brown thinking I would have something that went on easily and stayed on long. NO chance, because the eyeliner will NOT go on skin! I tried it on multiple friends/family members - no color, no matter how hard the pressure was. It will only write on paper! What a waste of my money!

I purchased this yesterday, thinking that gel would be slick and easy - I've tried twice, and it just doesn't glide for me at all....usually Loreal delivers, but for me, not this time. But ~ I also purchased the Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara. It was an instant match...my lashes are just average, and this mascara does a great job. I just felt so pretty after I applied it. Is there a way to return the eyeliner? Thank you so much.

I am very disappointed in the quality and performance of this product. The first time I used it the tip went very flat and too broad for an eye liner. With each use, the tip gets even flatter and now completely unusable after only 3 or 4 attempts at application. I usually buy L'Oréal products as they usually stand up for quality, but not this one.

I just purchased two Matte-Matic pencils tonight and couldn’t wait to try them. The tip broke off the first one as soon as I applied it. The second one was empty! No lead was in the tube. I am returning them to Walmart tomorrow.

Very uncomfortable application

This is the worst eye liner I have ever purchased. I am very disappointed in this product. First, when I bought it, the whole eye liner pencil core fell out. Second, application was not smooth at all. It would not glide on to my eye lid. I had to apply a lot of pressure to get it to go on my lid. Also, it was not dark or a smooth line over my lid. This eyeliner is not worth spending the money on. I won't be buying Loreal eye products in the future.

I bought this just 5 minutes ago. I was so horrified at how unusable this product was I decided to write this review.
Overall, the pencil is so dry and it cannot be applied to the eye and as I keep trying to make it work it literally crumbles.

I bought this a couple months ago and kept trying to use it. It doesn't 'glide' on. In fact, with a lot of rubbing and pulling it still barely goes on. Threw it out this morning.

Horrible Eye Liner

As a loyal customer of L'Oreal products, I was expecting this to be of the same quality I usually experience with L'Oreal. However, it is not the case with this eyeliner. It worked okay for a while, but it's now so dry it is painful to apply. I would definitely not recommend this eyeliner.

TERRIBLE - WORSE PIECE OF JUNK EVER.

This pencil is complete junk. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. It is impossible to use this pencil without it crumbling to pieces - that's whether you are applying it to your eye or just trying to sharpen the pencil. I will never buy another loreal product again.

Not sharp

I recently got this with high hopes that the eyeliner would surpass my expectations. The formula is great. BUT, the eyeliner is not sharp at all! It is blunt and nit good for cat eyes. Although it says it's self-sharpening, it is not. Disappointing.

I bought this within the last month since L'Oreal has a good reputation, but it felt like pencil lead trying to put it on my eyelid. Tried warming it up first and that helped slightly, but I tried a Rimmel similar type eyeliner that was far superior.

Worst Eyeliner I've ever used - - -

All my makeup is Loreal - also all haircare products & color all Loreal - - have been for many for years ! I thought I'd try this Matte-Matic Liner and bought two. I have never ever had such a horrible eyeliner in my life - - Since I bought 2, I thought maybe the problems were with just the one - - nope, the second one was just as bad. These liners' point crumbles when using them, ending up with a chunk of liner pencil on your eye, they don't go on smooth at all and yes, skip over your skin pulling it because they are dry. Due to this fact, if you get the liner on at all, it is thick, crumbly and uneven. And it hurts - - very disappointed since I invested in two liners. Am hoping Loreal can rectify this since I am a solid Loreal consumer !

This like most other L'Oréal liners smudges to your under eye so quick and easily . Usually you can wipe it away and make it work , not with this one! Try rubbing the run off and I think because it's matte it just makes your under eye look black ! I was so happy for about 30 second at how smooth it was to apply but then instantly under my eye. Maybe this product would work for somebody who doesn't moisturize at all . On the other hand they make the best BB Cream

Not That Great

I got this product a while ago. However, I'm disappointed considering that I was barely able to use it. The first time was alright. Every time after that, the tip kept breaking off. Also, the color started to have issues appearing. It wasn't a smooth application that I would have liked. You had to keep on rubbing it on your eyelid before it faintly appeared.

Great for waterline. Other people saying it's too dry on their lids, ladies put it on the waterline. It's not even melting off.

I wasted my money on this eyeliner... It goes on VERY dry and tugs at my eyelids. I tried it several times and finally had to give up. Not infallible!
