While the pride parades might still look a bit different than previous years, it’s still not an excuse not to celebrate Pride this (and every other) month. One really simple way to show support and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community is through beauty—specifically, hair and makeup looks that honor the colors of the Pride flag. So, we’ve rounded up three stunning rainbow-colored eyeshadow looks to inspire you. These fun and colorful hues come together to represent the diversity and unity within the LGBTQIA+ community. Whether you like bright and bold hues or prefer soft pastel shades, we’ve got you covered. So grab your makeup brushes and get ready to learn how to create these three gorgeous colorful eye makeup looks.
Look #1: Rainbow Gradient Eyeshadow
For a fun twist on your traditional eyeshadow look, try incorporating all the colors of the rainbow to create a beautiful gradient. Start off by prepping your lids with an eyeshadow primer or concealer, like the L’Oréal Paris True Match Eye Cream in a Concealer, 0.5% Hyaluronic Acid. Squeeze a dime-sized amount of concealer onto your ring finger and then dab it gently onto your eyelids until it has blended out smoothly.
STEP 1: Starting with your left eye, apply a red, orange, and yellow eyeshadow in the order of the rainbow. Grab a round shader brush and pack the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Matte Chill onto your inner corners and extend it from the start of your pupil up into the crease. Then, place a red shade like the L’Oréal Paris Brilliant Eyes Shimmer Liquid Eye Shadow Makeup in Radiant Ruby on the outer corner of your lids and buff it out. Blend the hues across the top of your crease so that the red and yellow shades connect.
STEP 2: Place an orange-toned hue like the L’Oréal Paris Brilliant Eyes Shimmer Liquid Eye Shadow Makeup in Precious Lava onto the center of the lid. Grab a clean fluffy brush to blend it out seamlessly into the yellow and red eyeshadow hues.
STEP 3: For the right eye, you’ll need to apply green, blue, and purple eyeshadow hues to complete this rainbow gradient look. Apply a green shade like the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Golden Emerald onto the inner corner and follow the same steps you used to complete the left eye. Tap on some of the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Perpetual Purple onto the out corner of your lids and sweep the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Midnight Blue onto the center of the lids.
STEP 4: To complete the look, apply some false eyelashes and use the L’Oréal Paris Air Volume Mega Mascara, Lightweight Mega Volume Washable in Blackest Black to blend them in with your natural lashes.
Look #2: Rainbow Pastel Embellished Eyeshadow
If you prefer using pastel hues, this is the look for you. After prepping your eyes with an eyeshadow primer, gather a few pastel eyeshadow hues and makeup embellishments to create an eye-dazzling look.
STEP 1: Grab a large fluffy eyeshadow brush and sweep the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Matte Chill into your crease and across your bottom eyelids. Be sure to place this yellow hue into your inner corners and extend it onto the inner lids as well.
STEP 2: Use a flat eyeshadow brush and layer the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Endless Sea right next to the yellow hue and extend it onto the center lid. Then tap on some of the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Perpetual Purple onto the outer corners and blend out any harsh lines with a clean brush.
STEP 3: Grab a small round eyeshadow brush and apply the deepest pink shade from the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Pocket Palette Eye Shadow into the inner corner of your upper crease and along the bottom eyelids.
STEP 4: Create a cat eye wing using the L’Oréal Paris Matte Signature Liquid Dip Eyeliner, Waterproof in Black. And swipe on a few coats of the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Washable Mascara in Blackest Black for extra drama. Complete the look by applying a few makeup gems around the entire eye area and you’re all set!
Look #3: Rainbow Cut Crease Eyeshadow
The cut crease eyeshadow technique is a must for your eye makeup repertoire, and this colorful take on the popular technique is perfect for Pride. Be sure to prep your eyelids to ensure that your eyeshadow pigments have optimal impact.
STEP 1: Start by blending a red hue into your crease. We love the L’Oréal Paris Brilliant Eyes Shimmer Liquid Eye Shadow Makeup in Radiant Ruby. Blend it down to the inner and outer corners of your eyelids. Then grab a large fluffy eyeshadow brush and apply the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Smoldering Plum to the outer corners of your lids.
STEP 2: Use a flat eyeshadow brush and dip it into the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Full Wear Concealer Waterproof, Full Coverage. Carefully create a semi-circle shape on your eyelid with the concealer. This step will help make your cut crease more dramatic, covering up any spots where eyeshadow fallout may have landed.
STEP 3: Go in with a clean, flat eyeshadow brush and apply a yellow hue like the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Matte Chill onto the inner corner of your eyelid. Then sweep on the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Golden Emerald at the center and tap on the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Midnight Blue right next to the blue hue.
STEP 4: Lightly sweep the purple eyeshadow across your bottom lids. Then use the L’Oréal Paris Infallible The Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner in Black to create a sharp cat eye. Complete the look by coating your lashes with the L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Original Mascara in Black. Now ready to move on to your face makeup.
