I have been using Clairol Root Touch up for years but I decided to try L'oreal Root Rescue because my old brand was not covering the grey as well as I liked. I am absolutely THRILLED with my new find. The L'oreal Root Rescue covered my grey roots and my hair feels so soft and looks really shiny! Thank you L'oreal .....I will definately be using this product again and again!!!!

Clumsy and Wasteful Applicator
hace 9 años
I love Loreal products in general, but sorry, this one needs some improvement. The rather rigid applicator bottle is hard to squeeze so the product doesn't flow out evenly but in spurts and spits. That made application difficult for me, plus it's impossible to get all of the product out of the bottle so some is wasted. But worse, despite leaving it on my hair for at least 15 minutes, it didn't cover my gray anywhere near as well as its competitor, Clairol Root Touch-up, which I have been using for about 2 years. (Maybe it isn't the formula at fault for this so much as it is the clumsy applicator bottle, I can't be sure. A big difference in the two brands is that Loreal says shampoo after, Clairol says no need to shampoo, simply rinse the product out. Perhaps shampooing right away removes too much product so there isn't as good coverage??) I do love the conditioning effect of Loreal Root Rescue, but then that's not my primary goal when coloring gray, so on that note, I can't recommend this product. I will go back to my tried and true, easy to mix, easy to apply, Clairol Root Touch-up, which uses an open tray and brush rather than a hard-to-squeeze stiff bottle. (Loreal might be a worthy contender if it weren't for that stiff applicator.)

Quick and easy gray root coverage

This is very convenient for root touch ups! The application is simple and can be done in 10 mins. It blends nicely with my natural black roots while keeping the rest of my highlighted hair untouched. Great option for coloring grays without having to color the entire head.

Great Coverage in Just 10 Minutes!
hace 6 días
I really like how easy and convenient the L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Permanent is to use. The mess-free applicator makes it simple to apply directly to my roots without making a big mess. The black shade is great for covering gray roots and helping my hair look fresh and more evenly colored between full color treatments. I also love that it only takes about 10 minutes, which saves time and is perfect for a quick touch-up at home. It’s a great option for keeping gray roots under control without having to make a trip to the salon. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an easy way to maintain their hair color!

Not enough blonde coverage of dark grow out
hace un mes
The lightest blonde did not lighten my roots enough. Turned slightly orangish. I even left in on for 13 min because I could see it was lightening enough. It there a lighter shade. Easy application, great construction, but still not happy with outcome. I guess I'll have to go back to the salon when it grows out to mget the results I was hoping for. I wish it had worked. Do you have platinum?

Hello Ms Sandy! Thank you for sharing your feedback on Magic Root Permanent shade 9 Light Blonde and letting us know about your experience with the lack of lift. All natural haircolor that is darker than pale blonde has red and gold pigments. When you lighten your natural color, these warm gold and red pigments are revealed. With most single-process permanent haircolors such as this, you can lighten your hair only up to two shades lighter than your natural color without exposing these warm tones. If a brassy result is still achieved, the shade used may have been too light for your starting color. Unfortunately, leaving the product on longer will not provide additional lift. We do not carry a Platinum shade in this line, but would be happy to provide more customized advice and recommendations to help you reach your goal shade successfully!

Great Product!
hace 3 meses
I have to say I was really impressed with this stuff. Only 10 minutes! I chose 8 minutes because I wasn't quite sure how it was going to work. My roots were white. This did cover in 8 minutes. I did the roots but then blended it in with the rest of my hair so I wouldn't get "lines". Always go at least one shade lighter than you think you should. I will be using this again.

The product does what it’s intended to do, I have used it twice and the fishy/outdoor dog smell is atrocious. It can’t be the Amino acids in my hair, I’ve tried many other hair dies and this smell has never occurred. The stench lingers for a few days, I would much rather have the ammonia smell! I like how the product works but the smell turns my stomach

Beware of orange results
hace 6 meses
Disaster using number 8 color mixed 50/50 with number 9 on my 75% gray/white roots. Hair came out orange! I had previously used number 9 that had a nice pale color with no orange but wanted a darker color. I even mixed the developers 50/50 as well. The only thing that saved me- temporarily- was purple gloss and purple shampoo or I would be a carrot top head. I will have to permanently tone these redish roots now for correction.

Great Color Coverage BUT Spreads- TOO too drippy
hace un año
I have used the 9 color several times and I do really like the coverage and how long it lasts however it is incredibly thin and liquidy what that means is after a few minutes of application it starts to drip down as in my intention of covering the roots of a half inch slides to full inch or more- since this is permanent, I’m sure that means it is going over my old hair that does not to be need to be recolored. I am aftaid of causing extra damage. The quantity in the container is small so it only covers my crown area. I had to get this three stars because I cannot use it knowing that it will color my already colored hair by spreading, which will cause a lot of damage if they could make the formula thicker so it would not drip like crazy that would help. I also put thick conditioner on the rest of my hair dry that is not colored so that it will not wash into my longer blond strands at rinse out. I am a dedicated at home Hair Colorist so I have used numerous formulas over the last 35 years. I don’t recall using one that spreads so quickly. over untreated hair.

Easy Application, Amazing Results
hace un año
I am so impressed with this product. I have been tinting my hair for decades. More often than not, I have been disappointed with the results as my natural base is medium brown and I have tried to color it everything from red to blonde. I have finally decided to embrace my natural color and color my grays. This does amazing. To be honest, I have a short pixi, so the product comtains just enough product to color my hair. The results are shiny and natural looking. I use Medium Ash Brown and it provides a medium/dark brown result.

I used to spend $200/mo. covering my greys. I have never colored my own hair but this is so easy! The dark blond shade is perfect and I get more compliments on my home color than the expensive salon job?! My only tip is to leave it on for 20 minutes and a few minutes before washing out come through rest of hair for a well blended result. It lasts 3-4 weeks. Thank you L’Oreal!

This product is so easy to use my husband did my touch up for me because we are currently traveling and I am away from my stylist! I have a lot of hair and there was enough product to easily do the coverage. It took him longer to apply so I probably had the product on for at least 30 min with no issue. He even picked out the shade at the drugstore:) He held up the sample shade on the box next to my hair.

Can you imagine my surprise when I washed my hair after coloring & my hair turned up BLACK with a little tint of chocolate brown ? Bought the #7 since my hair is normally dark but have been dyed blonde. My darker roots were coming in, so I thought #7 would be more of a natural color for my roots. Boy was I wrong! New darker shade formula for medium brown?
hace 2 años
I have used this product with incredible results for over three years. My stylist marvels at the fact that the shade matches perfectly with the color that she is used before. However, after having used medium brown for two years, the recent box that I purchased is definitely a darker shade. I’m curious if L’Oreal changed the formula? I’m very nervous to use another box, I loved the way the original medium brown colored my roots, and now it is obviously darker! Sad

I have used L’Oréal 10 minute root coloring kit many times. This time, very disappointing. I use Dark Blonde (7), but when I mixed it together , it was almost black color. I used it anyway thinking it might be a new formula. Well, did not cover any of my gray! Very disappointing! Probably won’t buy again! I love the 10 minute feature, but not anymore for me!

PERFECT COLOR AND COVERAGE
hace 2 años
Love love love! I have been using Root Rescue since the Covid shutdowns. Perfect for in between salon visits or if I don't want to pay salon prices. My hair fades really quick from the sun during summer months (avid boater) and this lasts longer than my all over salon color for a fraction of the price. I am a natural brunette and rotate between Medium and Dark Brown depending on season, however I just tried the Medium Ash Brown and absolutely love it. Not too dark, not too light and doesn't fade to orange/red as my color tends to do. I have fine, medium length hair (right above shoulder) and this covers my gray roots perfectly (scalp and crown area) with enough to pull through the ends.
