This mascara is awful. I've used this in the past, but it's not even close to the same (new formula?). It was clumpy, dry, and made my eyelashes very brittle and break. I thought maybe I bought one that was old, but I looked up reviews and my experience seems to be the consensus.

Used to love this mascara but now can only find it I 9x 11x 15x and it clumps and irritates my eyes. Would love the original back. I would tell everyone it’s the best mascara but now I’m at a loss.

Why, why, why would you change the formula? It went from the best tmascara to eh. Please bring the original back!

I don't know what they did to this mascara, but all of a sudden it's so hard to remove! It used to be so easy to take off. Not anymore. Time to change.

I have used this product for decades and I am so sad you decided to change the formula. I went store to store for months buying up the old mascara formula and have now finally ran out. This is such a disappointment. The new formula makes my eyes tear and clumps the lashes together. This had never been the case in the past. My hope is your team will realize their error and bring back the old formula. Until then I am on to find a replacement..,

I have been a faithful customer for many years. My last few purchases have been far below what I expect from your products. Your Voluminous Original is far from the Original formula I have always found without fault.

The new formula is terrible, I have been using this mascara for years and so disappointed that I need to find a new product. Why change a good thing

I used this mascara as long as I can remember. The last two I bought have so much product on the wand that I have to wipe it all off before I use it. This use to have a little plastic piece that scraped everything off and made the product have even coverage but now it's clumpy and heavy. Gotta look for something else.

I’ve been using this products for years but recently my eyes have been so darn irritated. Skin was itchy, eyes burning. I thought I needed eye drops and creams. Once I left off the mascara a few days it felt 100% better. Went back to L’Oréal and same thing happened. Why did you change a good thing? Now I’m trying Almay products. You’ve lost a loyal customer

VERY disappointed that you changed the formula (Voluminous waterproof black/brown). I’ve been using it for years but now I can’t stand it. Why on earth would you change something that works and make it uniseable??!?

The new formula is TRASH. I've been using the voluminous mascara for 25+ years. The original formula was, hands down, the best on the market. The new stuff is junk. So disappointed.

Been using it on my short beard for over ten years. No clumping and goes on perfect.

I was disappointed when after finishing all my makeup I felt a lot of irritation in my eye, it looked like I had rubbed pepper, my eye became swollen and very red, I needed to remove everything and use medicine to improve and so I don't recommend this product, I'm not allergic to anything, besides having used several other brands I've never had allergies or irritation like this.

The worst mascara, they shouldn't have changed it. It flakes especially when you wash it off and it gets in your eyes. The color is not good. It doesn't smudge well, it's almost sticky. It also burns my faceand causes my eyes to water.

Hate the new formula. I have used this for years and loved it. I wear contacts and this was the best waterproof mascara I had tried. Please go back to the original formula. New one is too thick and clumpy.

My mom, sister, and I have used this mascara forever and it was perfect. But now its horrible. Please go back to the old formula. I will pay more money, i just want a good product.

After L'Oreal discontinued their purple tube Voluminous Fiber Waterproof Mascara, I tried the Voluminous Original Waterproof. Huge disappointment! This mascara is not waterproof and comes out of the tube clumpy every time. Looking towards another cosmetic company for my mascara.

I have a hard time finding mascara (waterproof or not) that doesn’t end up smudging all over my eyelids throughout the day. This mascara used to be my holy grail - didn’t budge throughout the day, but was also easy to remove without also taking my lashes with it. But the new formulation is awful. It smudges all over my eyes and is hard to remove. So bummed. I won’t be buying this again any time soon.

I have this product on auto order with a Vendor and have used 3 tubes. While I like the applicator and the consistency of the formula, it has been stinging my eyes out of the blue - without being messed with. This is supposed to be waterproof and suitable for sensitive eyes. It does smudge under my eyes. going to have to find another waterprrof for sensitive eyes as this is not it. Back to Maybelline I guess.

I am 64 yrs young and have been a diehard fan of this mascara since I was 19 years old. What in Gods name have you done to the formula?? 2 coats of this mascara would last all day long or all night long. Now I put a 2nd coat on and it immediately balls up on the end of my lashes when it dries. What a shame. I guess I’ll try Maybelline 😞

Flakes off every time. By the end of the day, there’s really nothing left on your lashes because it’s all over your cheekbones and under eye area. It doesn’t smudge! But that’s because it’s just flaking off all over the place.

I purchased the L’Oréal Voluminous Original Mascara from my local Walmart. When I went to use the mascara the tip of the brush was bent. I had already disposed of the packaging so was not able to return. I have been using, because I do love this product, however with the bent tip I have accidentally touched my eyelid causing me to blink and have mascara smeared under my eye. I am hoping this is an isolated case and that there was not a batch of non conforming brushes used. Thank you

I have been using the green washable bold mascara for a couple of years and love it. I decided to try the waterproof carbon black mascara and hate it! It barely goes onto my lashes. After many many layers applied to make it look like I was wearing mascara, I found that throughout the day everytime I looked in the mirror I had mascara underneath my eyes. I would wipe that away and a little while later found more underneath my eyes, as if I was wearing regular mascara and went swimming. Not impressed. Not waterproof at all!

I'm not quite sure what you have done to the formula but I am so unhappy about it. I have been using the Voluminous Waterproof mascara for over 30 years and especially loved opening a new package and enjoying how dark and fat my eyelashes looked for the first few weeks. Of course it would gradually fade and get lighter as there was less and less in the tube and as it would dry out over time but that just meant I could open a new tube but now when I open a new tube the mascara goes on light and thin as if the tube had been open and used. Where is the dark and creamy formula that existed for years and years?!?! I hate to even think about the amount of money I have spent on my L'Oreal mascara but I guess it is time for a new brand.

I used this product and loved it for years, although they just changed the exterior of the mascara adding a gold band to it and once I was in need of a need mascara I was getting a reaction to my eyelashes . Itchy and very clumpy on my lashes . I’m thinking they changed the ingredients. Has anyone experienced this ?

I have used this mascara for over 30 years, once in a while you could tell the formula changed, not just the packaging and I would stop using it for a while. Well, recently the packaging has changed, has a gold edging on the tube and once again the formula has changed. it is not as thick, it's more flaky and I can't wait to get home from work and take it off because it is makes my eyes watery and itchy. I have bought 5 tubes (new packaging) from different stores with the same results. I tossed out all of these tubes, but luckily I did find a couple of old tubes without the new gold stripe which will last me a couple months. Unfortunately, I will have to look for a new water proof mascara.

This mascara flaked so badly that could not wear my contacts. I wasted 10$ on mascara I had to throw away.

I've never had a mascara do absolutely nothing. Could not even tell I was wearing any. Zero lift, length, anything. I didn't even realize I could be so disappointed.

I have been using this mascara for almost 30 years. I started using the waterproof mascara when I became an aerobics instructor and it would not run like other brands. My lashes were long and thick and I got compliments all the time! I referred this product to anyone who asked what I used. The past few months however, I have purchased several tubes thinking that I got a bad batch or that maybe I was accidentally using an old tube because of how dry and clumpy it was. I finally realized the formula must have been changed. The mascara doesn’t come off the brush very easily anymore, and flakes onto my cheeks now. I’ve noticed my eyes get irritated from this new formula as well. My lashes don’t even look as though I have any mascara on! I am throwing away all the tubes I own and sadly, looking for a new brand. I HOPE AND PRAY that you bring back the old formula and advertise it on the packaging because I miss my go-to eye make up! All I ever need is a good mascara and a chapstick, but unfortunately it will no longer be by L’oreal. 😢
