It’s a multi-use product that can help create whatever makeup style you like, but perhaps none better than an easy-to-do monochromatic makeup look. Below, we’re sharing what you need to know about its formula, plus how to use it on your eyes, lips and cheeks to create a beautiful, effortless look.
Before diving into how to use it to create a monochromatic look, allow us to explain why this lip and cheek tint is so great.
The formula has an extremely lightweight texture that feels like a hybrid between a liquid and a gel. It’s infused with aloe and rose extract for hydration, but it never feels sticky or tacky. And when it makes contact with the skin, it transforms into a water-like consistency that glides with ease.
It comes in six sheer shades that provide a subtle stain to the skin with one layer, and can be built up for more color intensity with additional layers. Once applied, it creates an ultra-dewy finish without feeling heavy or greasy. And despite not drying down completely, it’s not sticky so your hair won’t cling to it. While the lip and cheek tint can be applied to bare skin, it can also be layered over lightweight complexion products if desired. Because it has a dewy formula, it layers best over sheer, liquid products like the L’Oréal Paris True Match Hyaluronic Tinted Serum or the L’Oréal Paris Skin Paradise Water Infused Tinted Moisturizer.
To create the appearance of plump, glowing cheeks, apply a generous amount of your favorite shade of the tint to the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards towards your temples using your fingers or a brush in a tapping motion.
If you want to amplify the color, let the first layer sit for about two minutes and then add an additional layer.
Editor’s tip: While you might be tempted to use a makeup sponge when working with cream and liquid products, this formula is extremely thin, meaning that the sponge will absorb much of the product. To preserve the pigment and glow, opt for your fingers or a makeup brush.
Next, apply some of the tint onto your fingertips and tap the color onto your bare eyelids or on top of a sheer eyeshadow primer for increased longevity.
