How To Get A Fall Inspired Rainbow Eye Makeup Look

Just as the seasons change, our beauty looks do as well. This summer our eye makeup was all about bold and bright hues, inspired by those colorful curves you see in the sky. The rainbow beauty trend served up endless ideas for brow makeup, hair color, and even lip art all during the summer months. But since rainbows happen year-round, why shouldn’t this look, too? Making a seasonal transition from the traditional rainbow eyeshadow look is as simple as swapping your cold pastels for warm fall-inspired hues like burnt orange, deep red, dark violet, gold, and emerald green. To help you bring this bold eye makeup look into autumn, we’re sharing a tutorial for an enchanting rainbow eye makeup look that is perfect for the fall. 

How To Get An Autumn Rainbow Eyeshadow Look

If you're the type of person that prefers dark and smokey shadows, creating a beautiful autumn rainbow gradient is the perfect way to keep your style while adding a subtle pop to your overall fall beauty look.

Step 1: Prime Your Lids

Start by prepping your lids with an eyeshadow primer or concealer, like the L’Oréal Paris True Match Eye Cream in a Concealer, 0.5% Hyaluronic Acid. Just squeeze a dime-sized amount of concealer onto the back of your hand and then dab it gently onto your eyelids using your ring finger. This will help your eye makeup go on smooth and stay in place.

Step 2: Apply A Base Color

Using a large eyeshadow brush, apply a yellow shade like the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Eternal Sunshine into the inner corner of your eyes and upper crease. Keep packing on the yellow shade until you get the color intensity you like.

Step 3: Add Your Shades

Use a clean eyeshadow brush to layer an orange eyeshadow color like the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Sunset Seine right next to the yellow hue and extend it onto the center lid. Then tap on a more rust copper color like L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Amber Rush the outer corners and blend out any harsh lines with a clean brush.

Step 4: Color Your Crease

Grab a flat eyeshadow brush and layer on a rich magenta shade like L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Glistening Garnet right next to the copper. Apply this magenta color in a c-like shape at the outer corner of your eyes and drag the color down onto the outer corners of the lower lid. Take a clean blending brush and soften sharp edges and lines, giving a more graduated effect.

Step 5: Shade Your Under-eye Area

With a small pointed eyeshadow brush, apply a teal or green shade like the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in Endless Sea along the lower lash line. Then highlight the bottom of your eyebrows using the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Petite Perle.

Step 6: Finish With Eyeliner And Mascara

Along your upper lash line, add a thin line of the L’Oréal Paris Infallible The Super Slim Eyeliner in Black to make your lashes look thicker. Finish your eyes with a few coats of the L’Oréal Paris Air Volume Mega Mascara, Lightweight Mega Volume Washable in Blackest Black for extra drama.
